AMPJP Council meeting on 14th Dec 2021

Major discussion/decisions:

 

1. AMPJP public comment framework

  • The Council made some minor changes to the most recent draft. The amended framework was approved with a review in 12 months.

  

2. National Response Protocol

  • The Council discussed the invitation from ACSL that it adopts the National Response Protocol (NRP).
  • Councillors stated that their position is the same as in 2020. They are committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults and support for high level principles.

 

3. Preparation for the AMPJP Dinner and Forum 20-21 March 2022

  • The Council agreed on the updated details of the AMPJP Dinner 6.00-9.30pm Sunday 20 March 2022 and Canonical Stewards Forum “Leaders on a Journey” Forum 8.30am-4.00pm Monday 21 March 2022.

 

4. Paper: “MPJPs in Australia”

  • The Council made some changes to the draft paper on MPJPs. AMPJP Executive Officer will obtain further data to enable the Council to approve the paper in Feb 2022.

 

5. AMPJP contribution to the Synod on Synodality

 

7. Review of 2021

  • AMPJP Council Chair, Eva Skira thanked Councillors for a successful year. She congratulated the Council on its many achievements and its cooperative relationships. On behalf of the Council, she thanked AMPJP Executive Officer, Lawrie Hallinan, for his efficient and friendly approach to AMPJP and with its stakeholders. She noted that the videoconference format is much better than the previous telephone conference call format of AMPJP Council meetings.
  • Councillors wished each other Christmas Blessings.

  • The meeting discussed the AMPJP relationships with other Church Authorities.
  • The meeting noted the CORMSAA report.
  • The meeting noted the AMPJP Canonical Stewards Formation Committee report.
  • The meeting noted the Executive Officer’s Report.
  • The meeting noted the AMPJP Financial Reports.
  • The meeting noted the AMPJP Correspondence Report.
  • The meeting received a report on the Dec 2021 ACSL AGM
  • The meeting received a report on the ACSL-led project which is drafting a Code of Conduct for Church Personnel
  • The meeting reviewed 2021 –
