Introducing Mercy Partners new CEO

20 June 2018 by

Hi I’m Paul,

Newly minted CEO of Mercy Partners.

A little bit about me.

Karen and I have been married for 30 rich years and we have 3 adult children – each of them pursuing their own unique paths.  No grandchildren as yet though!

I have had various vocational roles.  I have been a Geologist and Uniting Church clergy.  I am a Psychologist and was up until recently CEO Centacare South West NSW and pleased to serve on the Catholic Social Services Australia Board.

I enjoy mountain bike riding, surfing and cross country skiing.  I’m not very good at any of them but they vigorously connect me with creation which I experience as renewing.

A dangerous confession … I am an AFL Carlton tragic … go the mighty Blues!! I’ll also support the Brisbane Lions given my move to Brisbane.  Sadly both are respectively bottom and second bottom on the ladder.

What attracted me to Mercy Partners were:

  1. the clear and compelling charisms of the Sisters of Mercy, Presentation Sisters and Franciscans and
  2. opportunities to:
  • strengthen the integration of theology, formation and governance including supporting Boards and Executives
  • further enhance Mercy Partner Ministries and explore mission responses between the ministries and
  • support Mercy Partners to mature as a PJP.

Anyhow, it’s great to now serve as CEO Mercy Partners and I look forward to meeting other PJPs and hear some of your story.

Paul
