Royal Commission concludes

Today the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse concludes.

The Commissioners and their staff have worked tirelessly for the past five years:

  • 42,041 calls handled
  • 25,964 letters and emails recieved
  • 8,013 private sessions held
  • 2,575 referrals to authorities (including to police)

It is now up to all individuals and institutions to ensure the safety of children.

Ministerial PJPs take seriously their responsibility to ensure the safety of children and other vulnerable people.
