Moments for Healing of this Country
Ahead of the referendum on Constitutional Recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through a Voice, we will gather online for a time of reflection and prayer.
Much work by many people over decades has brought us to the referendum to be held on 14 October 2023. Many have invested much of themselves in the lead up to this referendum. Strong words have been spoken and the debates have exposed deep divides. It has been a difficult time for many First Nations people.
This will be an opportunity to pause, and to consider our hopes for our country and for reconciliation more broadly. We will hand over our aspirations, concerns, endeavours and fears; and we will re-commit ourselves to continued truth-telling, practical action and walking together towards healing for all.
Please join us as we pray for healing within families, friendships, and communities and for all that is to follow post referendum. We will give thanks to all those who have given so much of themselves and shared their stories.
