Canonical Steward Wisdom Circle – Chris Jacobs-Vandegeer on Bonhoeffer and how we truly see someone

All canonical stewards and trustees of Ministerial PJPs are invited to a Zoom Wisdom Circle with conversation, continuing our study of the understanding of the human person.

This follows on from the very successful session Chris Jacobs-Vandegeer presented at the 2023 AMPJP Forum.

Bonhoeffer and the Challenge of Seeing Clearly

What does it mean to truly see someone? How can we grow in self-understanding? Drawing on themes in the works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, this Wisdom Circle will explore themes of self-understanding, love of neighbour, and how the values of our ministries interface with the shifting tides of our broader culture.

Jacobs-Vandegeer is the Group Mission Leader at St Vincent’s Health Australia. He holds a PhD in theology from the University of St Michael’s College and a Licentiate of Sacred Theology from Regis College, Toronto. He was the National Head of the School of Theology at Australian Catholic University prior to commencing at SVHA.

Chris has extensive experience teaching and publishing in areas of systematic theology and Catholic leadership. In 2015, he co-authored with Neil Ormerod, Foundational Theology: A New Approach to Catholic Fundamental Theology; and in 2020, he co-edited with Jean-Luc Marion, The Enigma of Divine Revelation: Between Phenomenology and Comparative Theology.
