Two of the world’s leading theologians, Professor Massimo Faggioli and Professor Richard Lennan from the USA will be delivering a two-day, face-to-face seminar Leading Ecclesial Communities: Foundations, Challenges & Possibilities in Sydney (2-3 August), Brisbane (30-31 July) and Wagga Wagga (26-27 July). The seminar will be available for higher education and professional development purposes.
Professors Faggioli and Lennan are internationally acclaimed Church scholars and authors. They are recognised for their extraordinary academic expertise which collectively incorporates Church history, ecclesiology, Papacy and the Roman Curia, Vatican II and systematic theology.
The seminar will take a broad view of the theological and cultural landscape of Catholicism as it impacts leadership in the Church of today. What are the signs of the times for the Church leaders in the 21st century? How might leaders better understand contemporary Catholicism in the light of ecclesial history and Vatican II, existing Church structures and communities, and the many challenges to Catholic identity and mission that will continue to dominate or emerge in the Church’s future?
