Through a partnership with Australian Catholic Bishops Conference Office for Justice Ecology and Peace, we at BBI-TAITE are able to bring to you an online course on Catholic Social Justice Teaching.
This course is intended for teachers, mission leaders, employees in Catholic organizations, pastoral practitioners and Christian disciples, and its aim is to enhance knowledge and practice of the principles of Catholic Social Justice Teaching. By strengthening theological formation and justice awareness, teachers, leaders and disciples will have an enhanced capacity to discern issues and respond effectively within the framework of the Catholic social justice teaching.
The course begins by establishing the theological and biblical groundwork for the Catholic Social Justice Teaching, and then explores the application of the Catholic vision to justice contexts before allowing participants to reflect on the implications of the course for their own professional and discipleship context in the concluding session.
The course consists of eight online sessions which include video presentations, readings, and online discussion, as well as optional extension resources. A digital certificate is provided upon successful completion of the written learning tasks.
Join us as we cover eight sessions over sixteen weeks to develop an accurate foundational knowledge of the Catholic Social Justice tradition. The course contributes to the formation of governors, leaders, staff and volunteers so that you have the capacity to draw on core concepts and key teachings of Catholic Social Teaching to respond authentically to different issues and events.
2025 Dates:
The short course is offered twice each year. The eight week program is organized into two blocks of four weeks each, punctuated with a week break in between each set.
