Summary of AMPJP Council Meeting 10^th May 2022

Travel Subsidy Proposal

The Council approved payments to enable each MPJP to send at least two representatives to the AMPJP AGM-Forum 21-22 Aug 2022 in Brisbane. AMPJP Executive Officer will inform MPJPs of the payment process.

AMPJP Operational Plan 2022-2023

The AMPJP Council approved the Operational Plan 2022-2023 which includes:

• finalise a short video and a number of papers on MPJPs by mid-2022;
• hold a face-to-face gathering in March 2023 (Melb or Syd) involving 2 representatives from each MPJP with AMPJP paying travel and accommodation);
• CORMSAA holds two face-to-face meetings and the rest via videoconference;
• CORMSAA will hold a Forum for RI-MPJP School Authorities via videoconference in July 2022;
• AMPJP Formation Committee to provide – 120-minute gatherings for Canonical Stewards (Perth, Syd, Melb, Bris) in mid-late 2022;
• AMPJP Formation Committee holds one face-to-face meeting and the rest via videoconference;
• AMPJP annual gender equity in MPJPs report will cover other aspects of diversity – March 2023;
• Seek a meeting with leaders of ACBC, CRA and AMPJP in the second half of 2022 via videoconference;
• assists MPJPs agree on a common approach to NCSS, NRP/F and Code of Conduct for Church personnel before 2023; and
• coordinate MPJP discussions with ACBC and CRA about ongoing funding of ACSL well before the expiration of initial funding on 31 Dec 2023

AMPJP Budget 2022-2023

The Council approved the AMPJP Budget 2022-2023, including keeping Membership fees at 2020-2021 levels.

Three papers on MPJPs

The Council considered revised version of three papers on MPJPs. These papers are not for public circulation but can be shared within MPJPs (once corrections are made). Brief versions of each paper will also be developed to make the content more readable for a wider range of people.

AMPJP Dinner and Forum 2022

The Council agreed that a work group will finalise the details of the AMPJP AGM Dinner 21 August 2022 and Forum 22 August 2022 in Brisbane. A carve out session for MPJP Executive Officers only will be included in the Forum program.

It was agreed that three meetings will take place on 21 August 2022 between 4.00-5.30pm

Other business

• The Council discussed the National Response Framework and National Catholic Safeguarding Standards 2^nd
• The Council discussed the AMPJP relationships with other Church Authorities.
• The Council conducted the Annual Review of Risk Register.
• The Council approved the Executive Officer Performance Review.
• The Council noted the CORMSAA report.
• The Council noted the AMPJP Canonical Stewards Formation Committee report.
• The Council noted reports from AMPJP Nominees to External Committees.
• The Council noted the Executive Officer’s Report.
• The Council noted the AMPJP Financial Reports and Correspondence Report
