The meeting discussed the RI-MPJP perspective on a number of issues that are currently before NCEC.

  1. Position paper on co-responsible governance in Catholic education

The meeting examined the feedback from RI-MPJPs School Authorities on the draft position paper which was generally positive. Various minor changes were noted and will be followed up. The meeting agreed that the request for stronger language by a minority could negatively impact on the document’s reception. However, greater clarity around suggestions will be adopted. The paper will be finalised in May 2021. A consultation process for Bishops and Catholic Education bodies will follow in the latter part of 2021. This process will take time and will vary in each jurisdiction – unity in our diversity.
