Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) and the Association of Ministerial Public Juridic Persons (AMPJP) are pleased to announce that they have signed a Covenant document.
The CRA-AMPJP Covenant provides a framework for mutual respect and regular communication, that seeks to further opportunities for collaboration and enable both bodies to respond quickly to new challenges. The relationship between to two organisations is founded upon a history of the transferral of ministries from Religious Institutes to newly established MPJPs.
The CRA-AMPJP Covenant is based on a theological understanding of both bodies having been called by God for their individual mission and also called by God into an enduring relationship with each other. The Covenant states that this is a relationship with an outward focus “…to facilitate the Reign of God in the Church and in the world.”
Br Peter Carroll FMS, CRA President said:
CRA and AMPJP, as the representative bodies of Religious Institutes and Ministerial PJPs, have charisms that are primarily prophetic and service-oriented. We see many positive benefits in exploring options to enhance our collaboration.
Ms Eva Skira AM, AMPJP Chair said:
CRA and AMPJP are natural partners as our shared history binds us together. The Covenant provides a foundation for our future and AMPJP looks forward to continuing to journey in a synodal approach with CRA.
