Launch of Catholic Women’s Mentoring Program

March 8, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join us at Merici College in Braddon on International Women’s Day for the Canberra Launch of Catholic Women’s Mentoring.

Mingle with like-minded Catholics and hear from a panel of Catholic women working in a variety roles in Canberra from politics to media.

Why Mentoring?

Mentoring is a tool of empowerment which can help us to become what God created us to be. It is a mutually beneficial relationship which involves a more experienced person helping a less experienced person to reach their potential.

Mentoring is:

  • Relationship and partnership-based
  • Mutually enriching
  • Supportive and encouraging
  • Confidence building
  • Based on mutual trust and respect

In Catholic Women’s Mentoring, women will be matched as Sisters in Christ with the intent of forming a companionship in which the two women will share resources, knowledge, networks and experiences, while encouraging each other in their faith journey.

The program is built around the needs of women and is relationship-based. Mentors are not expected to provide spiritual direction or coaching; it is about support, encouragement and bringing out the best in each other. Sometimes we need others to recognise our potential in order for us to see it for ourselves and mentoring is the perfect instrument to provide this opportunity.
