Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics and those working in Ministry and Catholic Education with our people are invited to attend the NATSICC Assembly.
Delegates will come together in Perth from 1-5 October 2018 to experience an event that will explore the faith, spirituality and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics.
The Perth event will be a unique Assembly as it combines world renowned Keynote speakers – Senator Pat Dodson, Fr. Frank Brennan and Dr Richard Walley with an amazing group of Workshop presenters sharing stories of faith, success and overcoming challenges.
Yarning Circles will give delegates the opportunity to share their experiences and debrief after the sessions. The Assembly outcomes and discussions will feed into the 2020 Plenary Consultation – ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait people have a voice in the future of the Catholic Church.
Delegates will experience a day trip to New Norcia and a number of morning and evening sessions throughout the week.
Registration is $600 – including ALL MEALS, day trip, Assembly satchel and workshop materials. Accommodation is not included in the registration. Budget accommodation has been negotiated with nearby Clontarf College and the Metro Hotel in Bentley is the Official Assembly Hotel. Shuttle transfers to the Assembly have been organised for both options.
The Youth Assembly will run concurrently with the Main Assembly and is open to 15 – 25 year old Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders.
