New national committee for Religious Institute and Ministerial PJP schools
The Association of Ministerial Public Juridic Persons (AMPJP) has announced the membership of a new national committee representing Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person school authorities. This committee replaces and builds upon the legacy of Catholic Religious Australia’s previous Education Committee.
Members of the Committee of Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person School Authorities Australia are:

The Committee’s aims include to:
- Focus on the Mission of Catholic Education;
- Promote the unique contribution of Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person education;
- Strengthen, and engage collaboratively with, the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) and State Catholic education structures/processes; and
- Facilitate Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person School Authority communication and collaboration.
Philomena Billington, Interim Chair of the Committee of Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person School Authorities Australia said:
“Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person schools have a rich heritage of spiritual charisms, innovation, educational pedagogy and social justice and continue to contribute to the mission of Catholic education across Australia in partnership with all schools.”
“Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person schools continue Jesus Christ’s mission of liberating, teaching and learning, hospitality, sharing wisdom and providing support and encouragement so that all may experience “life to the full” (Jn.10:10).”
Religious Institute and Ministerial Public Juridic Person school authorities provide a wide range of Catholic educational opportunities to approximately 149,000 young people (17% of all Catholic school enrolments). These include: rural and metropolitan schools, boarding schools, flexible learning centres for disadvantaged students, scholarships for Indigenous and other students, and multi-modal experiences.
