On 1st November 2017, the Association of Ministerial PJPs Ltd was pleased to welcome Lawrie Hallinan as its new Executive Officer.
The Association also expresses its appreciation for the excellent contribution of Pat Bugden as interim Executive Officer. Pat capably assisted it through its establishment phase and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.
Lawrie has an extensive employment history in aged care, mental health and Social Work. For the past 11 years, he held a senior management role with Mercy Services in the Newcastle area.
Lawrie is originally from Victoria and has lived in Newcastle for the past 21 years. During 1986-87 he was employed on the Melbourne Diocesan Youth Apostolate. More recently he has been an active volunteer within the church with: the Maitland-Newcastle Diocesan Social Justice Council (1998-2001); the Maitland-Newcastle Diocesan Pastoral Council (2010-14); and as Tighes Hill Mass Community Coordinator (2003-present).
Lawrie is looking forward to working with the Association to support the ministry of canonical governance in the PJPs. He sees enormous possibilities for PJPs as a new vehicle to continue and to complement the work of Religious Institutes in the Church’s work of evangelisation and service to the poor.
Lawrie is also a non-executive Director with Southern Cross Care (NSW and ACT), and a member of the Jesuit Province Reconciliation with Creation Advisory Group.
The Association’s office will now be co-located with the Newcastle Catholic Parish at:
25 Farquhar Street, The Junction NSW 2291
PO Box 6, The Junction, NSW 2291
