AMPJP Forum 22 August 2022
The 22 August 2022 AMPJP Forum was the first in-person Forum since 2019.
It was attended by 51 of the total of the 77 MPJP Stewards (Trustees) among our 12 member MPJPs. This is basically 2/3rds of all these MPJP Stewards. This is the highest number and highest percentage of MPJP Stewards at any AMPJP Forum.
We had three representatives of the Marist Association. During the year we had two organisations join as Associates: Marist Association and Loreto Ministries. Both organisations are exploring the possibility of establishing a MPJP or Association of Christ’s Faithful and we hope to assist and accompany them on their journey.
It was also a delight to welcome Executive Officers from 10 MPJPs at the Forum for the first time.
We also welcomed Dr Caroline Thompson and Dr Chris Jacobs-Vandegeer who are members of the AMPJP’s Formation Committee.
The day began and ended with significant periods of prayer.
We had three substantial workshops:
- Synodal Leaders – on synodality and MPJP governance led by Assoc Prof Susan Pascoe AM
- MPJP Leaders Sustaining the Mission led by Dr Maeve Heaney VDMF
- Exploring how describe the role “So, you want to be a MPJP Steward?” led by David Penny and Peter Steane
As always the opportunities for networking and mutual support were greatly appreciated.
